How to Get a Refund from McAfee?

There may be many reasons for which you would ask McAfee for a refund after you purchase its products. It would be better if you know a few things before approaching McAfee, about what you will have to do for a refund. Preparation will save a lot of hassle in this refund process.

McAfee has a money back guarantee if its customers are not satisfied with its products for any reason. 

Eligibility for a McAfee Refund: 

 Although this guarantee is given most of the McAfee products, you must be eligible for the money back guarantee. The eligibility criteria depend on many factors including:

• What type of product you purchased?
• What was your subscription period?
• How long it has been since you purchased that McAfee product
• At which location did you purchase it?

What Happens After You Get the Refund? 

• You will have to uninstall the product if you receive the refund
• McAfee will also have the right to disable your product license to prevent its unauthorized use
• The customer Care of McAfee will handle and provide the refund

 Answers to some Common Questions about McAfee Refund (must read)

• McAfee refunds the applicable taxes, handling charges, and shipping charges ‘only in certain countries which allow these expenses to be refunded.’ In other places, it will refund only the product cost.
• You won’t get partial refunds from McAfee.
• You are eligible for a refund only if you are an ‘annual subscriber’ of McAfee.
• Monthly subscribers are not eligible for a McAfee refund.
• If you are eligible for a refund, you will have to place a refund request within 30 days after you have purchased the product.
• If the refund request is placed after 30 days, the refund for annual subscribers and retail products will be denied. 
• If annual subscribers have put their subscription on auto-renewal, and it has been renewed, they will get 60 days to request a refund.
• Those customers, who purchased the McAfee product from any retail store, will have to contact McAfee Customer Service for any refund request.

 Who is NOT Eligible for a Refund:

• McAfee refund is not applicable for monthly subscribers. 
• Those subscribers who ‘think’ there is any anomaly in their subscription. Perhaps their credit card bill is showing that they have been charged twice for their monthly subscription? They will need to contact the Customer Service of McAfee, instead of asking for a refund.
• If somebody from the Netherlands wants a refund from McAfee, then sorry, you are not eligible to directly ask for it. You will have to contact the Customer Service department.

 Specific McAfee Refund Policy for UK Customers:

• Eligible customers from the UK get a ‘full money back' guarantee from McAfee.
• Customers can apply for this refund while cancelling their subscription.
• For customers, whose subscription has been auto-renewed and who want to cancel it, McAfee offers them a ‘pro-rata’ refund. UK-based customers are entitled to it even after the cancelation period has passed.
• For requesting a refund, UK-based customers can use the forms and prompts from McAfee Customer Service.
• These customers will also be required to uninstall the McAfee product after the refund.
• Those, who purchased their product from a retail store, will have to contact McAfee Customer Service.
• The eligibility criteria are similar to other customers.
• Customers outside of the UK are not eligible for a refund under this policy.

 Whenever, and for whatever reason, you go to the McAfee website to ask for a refund, it will ask you for the reason for the refund. You will get the options like:
